Hello Dubai

Because of the snow we were an hour and half late leaving.  Emirates have a lovely business class Well it looked nice as we walked through.  My dream is to travel business class one day. Dont get me wrong,  the flight was comfortable . A nice touch was being able to watch the take off from the pilots perspective

Dubai airport is very impressive. I have never seen so much marble in one place. The huge waterfall only visible to the people in the lift was a nice touch.
We got to the hotel Hilton Dubai Creek after 10pm. So after a quick change we went out for a look. We are accross from the high rise modern bit, on the edge of the old town. Not that the little bit we saw looked old. In fact it was very modern. We spotted a Persian restaurant so decided to go there. It had a buffet which while very tasty was rather odd. It had curry, Chinese, chips as well as various kebabs. I forgave it that though for thier rather lovely Om Ali.

My bags are packed.....well almost

It is at this stage of going on a trip where I begin to panic. Have I got everything? What have I forgotten? A new worry this time, will the cat be lonely? Will Mum be ok? Maybe Mum can come over and talk to the cat, maybe that would solve two problems at once.
And now the cherry on top is, will the airport be open? It is snowing!

Getting ready to go

The tickets have arrived. Hubby has highlighted the route. Now just got to sort out who will feed the cat and to decide how many pairs of shoes I can pack.
I admit I am not looking forward to the long flights. First stop Dubai. I am going armed with my new Kindle, Audiobook and a book book, so I shall not be bored.
